Insurance Coverage

Men That Move holds Workers Compensation, Public Liability insurance and limited transit insurance as part of our operations. We do not charge for insurance.

If your building management requires Certificates of Currency for public liability insurance, please email our office after your move has been booked and we will provide a copy for you to submit to Building management.

Ahead of your move, MTM recommends all customers obtain an independent insurance policy to ensure full coverage during their move.

Transit Insurance

Men That Move holds transit insurance and provides coverage in the instance of:

  • Total loss when in transit due to an unforeseen incident such as vehicular accident, fire, auto theft or flooding during the move.
  • Major damage sustained to an item which renders it unfit for purpose or unusable if Men That Move staff are at fault.

Please note that TVs and other screens need to be packaged as per the manufacturer’s recommendation for transportation to be covered for any damage during the move.

  • Minor cosmetic damage including scratches, dents, flakes or dings.
  • Contents inside customer-packed boxes.
  • TVs or screens not packaged correctly.
  • Cash, EFTPOS cards, credit cards, gift cards or jewellery.

Any single item over 75kg not assessed prior to moving including:

  • Pianos
  • Pool Tables
  • Glass furniture
  • Marble or stone furniture
  • Volcanic stone furniture
  • Ceramic BBQs
  • Subzero refrigerators

Internal electronics or mechanisms where no external damage exists are excluded.

Flat-pack furniture not dismantled according to manufacturer instructions is not covered.

Artwork valued above $1,000 is not covered unless professionally packed or transported by a Fine Arts transport service.

Items with pre-existing damage are excluded unless previously reported.

Commercial equipment including refrigeration equipment, printing equipment, pottery wheels and kilns are excluded.

Theft during loading or unloading when all staff are requested away from the vehicle is excluded.

Replacement Cover & Reimbursement

Customers must provide receipts or valuations for replacement claims. All valuations are handled by Zurich Insurance.

How to Make a Claim

Please email info@menthatmove.com within 3 business days of your move.

Include:

  • Description of the issue
  • Supporting photos

Photo evidence may not be sufficient and physical inspection may be required.

To establish market value provide:

  • Original purchase invoice
  • Repair or replacement quote

Additional information must be supplied within 21 days otherwise the claim may be considered closed.
